Nigel Burgess Ltd
Over the last 25 years Nigel Burgess has built an enviable reputation for impeccable service and meticulous attention to detail. Our commitment to a distinctive style and our specialist knowledge of the large yacht sector comes from years of professional experience. We can guarantee the expertise to ensure the smooth running of every aspect of buying, building, chartering and managing the finest yachts in the world.
The company was founded in London in 1975 by Nigel Burgess, a keen yachtsman who sailed in single handed races worldwide. It was his meticulous eye for detail and personal attention to the needs of his clients that shaped the philosophy of the company and promoted the values and principles that are still upheld to this day.
Subsequently an office was opened in Monaco in 1979 and in 1987 a marketing relationship was forged with the Amels Shipyard in Holland which has proved to be a great and lasting alliance. A joint-venture third office, Amels-Nigel Burgess Inc, in Fort Lauderdale, USA was opened in 1998. Most recently the Nigel Burgess Group has been pleased to announce the opening of a new office in New York, to further enhance our service to clients throughout the United States.
With the addition of an Athens representative in 2002, the Nigel Burgess Group is now superbly placed with four locations to serve clients in the most popular cruising areas worldwide.
Today the Nigel Burgess Group is run by two major shareholders, Jonathan Beckett and Daniel Ponchau. Our phenomenal growth record over the past 25 years has established our company as the world's leading brokerage house dealing exclusively in large yachts. This achievement was recognized in 2001 when Nigel Burgess became the first yacht brokerage company to be awarded the prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise.
