Cirdan Sailing Trust

We specialise in providing young people with the opportunity to experience the challenge and excitement of sailing on our five large traditional sailing vessels. Encouraging the development of personal and social skills, every trip is tailor-made to meet the requirements of the group. Operating from various ports around the country, our vessels are crewed by qualified staff who also have experience of working with young people. Everyone on board is encouraged to take a full and active part in sailing and running the vessels. Trips vary in length, and we regularly take part in the Tall Ships Race. On voyages of 5 days or more crew members can gain RYA Competent Crew Certificates and/or complete the Gold Residential section of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. No previous sailing experience necessary and bursaries are available for youth and disadvanatged groups to help subsidise the cost of a voyage. Our service can be extended to adult groups (corporate, family or friends) and we run occasional individual day sails.
