Adventure in Angling
We have a truly unique environment at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Lakes Mead and Mojave, with 181,000 surface acres and nearly 1000 miles of shoreline combine to make it the premier inland water recreation area in the west. It also happens to be one of most prolific striped bass lakes in the country. The annual take of stripers is estimated to be close to one million fish. The liberal Lake Mead Fishing limit is 20 fish per person, and can be a reality on any given day as these fish are aggressive almost all year. In addition to the striped bass, the lake hosts a wide variety of sport fish including largemouth bass, small mouth bass, catfish, tilapia, crappie, bluegill, and red ear sunfish.
